He has great spiritual strength which is needed to control heavenly flames, and he has good comprehension skills, the only problem with his skills is The environment he is currently.

You can't just learn all types of skills, he needs the ones that are suitable for him. Which they aren't many of them in his current environment.

He hasn't cultivated for long and has to walk on death's door constantly, can't even find time to look for suitable skills.

Angry buhdda lotus flame was a self created skill with the downside is harsh requirements on his spiritual strength, which results in a longer cast time.

God seal technique requires a higher level of cultivation to gain mastery, MC isn't there yet.

3000 Lighting movement as the name implies is a movement technique, best when fight opponent of the same level. Not much of a use when fighting across levels.

I do agree with all of this problem is I'm not really seeing it on screen in the adaption being well shown to us the viewers(haven't read the manhua itself probably never will as i prefer animated adaptations most of the time). I can guess to know all of this points its from reading at least one or two more arks to know more about the other more powerful masters to have a point in comparison or read deeper lore of the BTTH universe somewhere on some site its clearly not well explained in the animated version so far. I think that's the biggest weakness of this manhua adaptation at this 2 arks atm. This one and the one before after the time skip. The whole story was really well done up to under the volcano scene where we had a clear understanding of just how XY works as a character but honestly after the time skip man the story quality really dropped the ball. I'm guessing its pretty rewritten in the animated adaptation to the source material and yea after a while it shows even to people that haven't read the OG source. It's like watching a completely different show in terms of figuring out the power balance and honestly i can see this arks being the weakest of the whole series at least till we go save sensei in the Hall of souls place. So far essentially the story struggles to show and re-define XY as a character after the time skip we cant have him too weak but cant have him too strong either yet and finding this middle ground is atm is just not fun to see as its dragging on for a while. Its not that the whole series is bad its just this current 2 arks now are really weak and it shows as things are all over the place and not clear enough to be understood why things are this way for people that haven't read the whole series and are just watching the animated version if that makes sense.

Is Yuan Zun a story of different Universe from the 3 novels since mentioned in the Great Rulers that XY and Lin Dong are both from Lower Realm is Yuan Zun older era than Battle through the heavens current story line?

I saw a comment before that Yuan Zun happened 10,000 yrs before BTTH while BTTH have the same era of Martial Universe but both MC in the story of TGR they are both reach max level of the Upper Realm in TGR universe

But when it is Dou Huang 6~7 Stars XY vs 2x Dou Huang 9 Stars, Xiao Yan is literally equivalent of giving the World Champion of an MMO control of a Max Level World Raid Boss designed for 10,000 Max Level Players, all must be armed to the teeth with the best of the best items to defeat ~ Fight 2 Level 50 Noobs.

For me the problem is in the writing. The author made XY into a god saviour type guy. But he's always been dependent on others. If the author was better they would have set it up as a group type thing, something like Douluo, where the MC is really OP but always has friends around. I was never upset about the MCs friends taking a big part of the action because it was setup that way that they fight in a party and each person had a good role to play.

Unfortunately in BTTH, it is setup in a way that XY can do everything (which he can't), and its been pumped up that way, only for it to be a letdown every single time. If the author wanted XY to be the saviour type guy then they should have thought about the power balance of the enemies and how it affects the story.

To be fair Yun Shan is one of the most disappointing dou zong in history. He has never fought anyone at the same level or above without reliance or help from formation, pills, etc. The dou zong's that he is fighting now are significantly stronger than yun shan and are capable of fighting at their level and above although not by much. Also xiao yan has an advantage of having a heavenly flame, it definitely doesn't seem like it does alot of damage buy none of his opponents after yuh shan were stupid enough to underestimate a heavenly flames power. In donghua the injuries are more internal than external making them far more severe to cultivation and fighting ability. Ain't many people stupid enough to allow a heavenly flame to burn you directly.

Yun Shan doesn't really have the talent to reach Dou Zong, he was actually doomed to pass away as a Dou Huang, he merely sold his dignity, pride, virtues, principles and soul to the Soul Hall in exchange for the Power to reach Dou Zong. Even then, he doesn't have the capabilities to fully utilize the power of a Dou Zong.
And there's Buddha Rage Flame Lotus made out of Abnormal Flames (Heavenly Flames).
Abnormal Flames are among the largest multiplier among all 'weapons' in BTTHs.
XY used such Abnormal Flames and turned them into a nuke in the form of Buddha Rage Flame Lotus.
Yun Shan IS a legitimate Dou Zong, there is a 100 ~ 400 times difference between a Rank 7 Dou Zong and a Rank 5 Dou Wang.
So Buddha Rage Flame Lotus is a multiplier that's either 100 ~ 400 times or above that and this is just a Flame Lotus created by 2 Abnormal Flames.
Well, we did see what happens if XY tries to create one out of 3 Flames recently as a Rank 6 Dou Huang. It wasn't pretty.

I know ow how strong heavenly flames are ever since they were first introduced and saw the fight with Hai Bodong. Even the lowest of level of heavenly flame is capable of allowing you to fight far outside of your rank. Yun Shan didn't have principles to begin with. If you observed the interactions with the Yun Leng, Yun Shan prioritised saving him most of the time. Yun Shan just jumped at the opportunity to become a dou zong which he wouldn't have been able to without hall of souls. And we've seen how he always fights those weaker than him and never really tries to fight fairly. The Yun Lan Sect was bound to fall. Every great group eventually declines because the descendents start slacking and lose their lower that they once held. Yun Shan pretty much ensured it's downfall by aligning with hall of souls, they are the worst ally you can have, there is only a minute amount of members we've seen so far but only one has some standards and that's the one that captured han feng initially.
